Ok so this did not live up to my expectations, but it was still decent. I'm a huge fan of witty banter, and most of this story occurs in the MCs heads. Once I got towards the end I realized that might have been intentional, but it wasn't my favorite. There is some nero spicy rep, and while I cant say if its accurate, the portrayal painted what seemed like a nuanced picture that reminded me of some of the peoplein my life and echoed experiences I've heard about. Though the attraction was clearly mutual and the spicy scenes were spicy, there always seemed to be this disconnect. Maybe this was because the story is told in 3rd person, so the characters always felt just a bit out of reach. I LOVED the emphasis on pleasure over orgasm! (This connects to another book I'm reading right now.) Though it is still my least favorite trope, the miscommunication in here was so ridiculous that it was actually funny. I do wish we got to see more of their relationship outside of the spicy scenes and the day to day monotony. There is a ton of Q+ representation and a bit of BIPOC rep as well, but these are all side characters. Even though this wasn't my favorite, I was still cheesing at the end and I will keep reading more from this author.
