Rabbits
by Terry Miles
The premise of this book was mildly interesting but it made no sense to me. I had trouble getting into this one. The concept of a secret underground game called Rabbits filled with patterns, puzzles and inconsistencies —similar to an escape room but on a grander scale, was appealing. Reminded me a bit like Flight Club you don't talk about it.
Sounds exciting, right? However, the execution felt disorganized. While the chaos may reflect the nature of the game, it left me feeling overwhelmed. I struggled to follow the plot line especially midway through the book. There was too much going on at once, I started to lose track of events that occurred much like the main character.
The characters were forgettable and I mean that literally. The main character K was boring. For the entirety of the book; they were running around finding clues that had little to no point for the story. The “puzzles,” were not something the reader could follow or solve while reading and that's something I wished this had. This just wasn’t the book for me.
