I think Before We Forget Kindness is sadder than Before The Coffee Gets Cold.
The characters in this sequel seem to carry more than just the desire of a second chance. They made me feel like guilt weighed them down immensely. The new patrons of the cafe are assisted and interact with the "time travelers" from book one in different ways which I liked.
I still have my questions about the history of the cafe but now I feel like the more I learn about the Funiculi Funicula cafe and those who have time traveled, I question if I would ever choose to "travel" because of how painful the emotional impact would be. And knowing that you only have the one opportunity to travel. I don't think I would be able to travel just the once😕
