Blood and Sand by Elizabeth Hunter
4.0

This wasn't my favourite of the series - but not my least favourite either. The story of Baojia and Natalie is one that takes its time getting going. These two seem more suited than Carowyn and Brigid (which is my least favourite of the stories) but they're still not Bea and Gio. One of the best things about this book is the way Hunter wraps the previous characters into the story. The plot here wasn't nearly as strong; I think this whole elixir mystery is starting to wear thin. The mystery here of the disappearing and murdered women seems like just a device to further the elixir theme - even with the interesting twists to it.

Having said all that, I just can't put down a book by Elizabeth Hunter. She is one of my auto-buy, go-to authors that never ceases to entertain me. I love her stories and I love the way she tells them. It would be really difficult to disappoint me with one of her books.
