Calling My Deadname Home: the Trans Bear Diaries by Avi Ben-Zeev

emotional funny informative reflective sad medium-paced

4.0

I was a little hesitant about reading this book. After all, the title suggests it could be a little intense. And yes, this memoir doesn't shy away from some of the difficulties of life, both for those who are trans and in general. But it is also very funny and warm, with an incredible heart to it. I'm so glad to have read it, especially just as I am going through the process of changing my name.
