This a rough book.  Do not go into reading this book lightly.  I did and that was a mistake.  This book, though short, explores some of the hardest themes and darkest horrors that humans are capable of.

This book is about a world where the government has legalized cannibalism and all animals are seen to carry disease and are killed. This a very graphic book about humans as chattel, humans being processed as food in meatpacking plants, explicit dismemberment and death, and the normalization of eating human flesh in society.
