The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson
3.0

Less shocking than Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but similarly diarising an unapologetically hedonistic and debauched lifestyle. I don't know why I find him and his writing so intriguing. He describes situations and interactions so well, and I admire anyone who can do that. But I find it almost inappropriate from someone who was seemingly continually drunk, always courting trouble, making poor decisions, and revelling in that.
