It honestly made me nauseous at times and took so long for me to read because of how disturbing it is. Sometimes it felt like it was being disturbing just for the sake of being disturbing and not always to prove a point. The main character’s motivations are completely nonsensical. Sometimes he says he is disgusted by what is going on and won’t eat the special meat, and sometimes he says he is completely indifferent to slaughter. He wasn’t a good guy by any means, which I understood from the beginning. I just can’t grasp his thought processes because they aren’t consistent.
