This is extremely twisty and convoluted - maybe too twisty, especially at the end - but I did not get a single thing right except the fact that
the house does finally collapse into the sea
at the end. The overwrought POV of the heroine was a little tiring at times, but it's a hallmark of gothic literature so you just have to kind of go with it. I listened to this and I think it was a good pick for this book, the narrators were good and listening meant I couldn't start skimming, which I think I would have at points if I was reading.
