Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

4.0

At first I was wary because I am kind of sick of dystopia books that have become so formulaic. But this was a surprise. It didn't go to any of the usual tropes. Even the lead female character is in her late twenties. It is a great read that isn't heavy handed in any respect and does well to draw a reader in. It is a multi - character perspective book but all focused on two central events - the flu and the death of a state actor. These events not only define their existence but also contribute to the mysterious elements that are only revealed near the end. I recommend this book highly
