I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, so reading it was a pleasant surprise. I really liked Talasyn as a main character, and her relationship with Alaric. I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying it was a Kylo/Ren fanfic, but I’m not a Star Wars fan and I still enjoyed it! The world building was good but there are still some question marks about the magic system and about the world generally. I liked the dual POV as well, but I found it confusing how it changed constantly mid-chapter. I will definitely be reading the later series. Also, it’s bugged me the whole time reading this, but I still don’t know why the wars were called the hurricane wars!
