Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi
dark
emotional
informative
medium-paced
3.5
I struggle with graphic novels because I tend to want more detail and background than what the format allows for. That being said, Satrapi effectively communicates what she wants her reader to know and lets us into the world of Iran during it's revolutions in the 70's and 80's and into her mind a girl growing up in a turbulent society.
Moderate: Torture and Gun violence
Minor: Rape
