Once and for All by Sarah Dessen
2.0
This book fell short of expectations. Ostensibly a romance, this book lacked all traces of romantic tension. Filled with characters that had potential, most of them were very shallowly written, and only focused on their interactions with Louna, the main character in the book.
The plot had potential, but I'm not sure if Dessen felt comfortable writing about gun violence in general, and school shootings in particular. It was a book that felt like it had potential all the way up to the point where it was clear that it didn't have any potential. The ending was obvious, it was just a matter of figuring out how the plot would be manipulated to get there.
Dessen, a powerhouse of an author, has written some amazing titles. Sadly, this can't be counted among them.
