Bratva's Intern by Gianni Holmes

4.5

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review.

I was ecstatic to hear that Gianni Holmes was writing a mafia romance. Y’all know that’s one of my favorite genres. Heads up that Bratva’s Intern ends on a HFN, but it’s delicious and you should definitely read it! (Be sure to check out the content warnings, just in case). Maxim and Wren are *chef’s kiss* and I am looking forward to their second book, out next month. (I’m beyond intrigued how Maxim came to know of Wren. I have a theory, but I will keep that reserved for the next book). Also, Gianni got me with that prologue! My gah! So many feels.

Wren is a college student trying to make ends meet. He receives an opportunity to interview for an internship (that he didn’t apply to) for the well renowned Maxim Morozov. Maxim has built a real estate empire, but there’s definitely more going on behind the scenes. (Maxim is keeping some secrets). Wren and Maxim get off on the wrong foot when they first meet, but it’s a memorable moment. I don’t even drink coffee, but to be a fly on the wall at that coffee shop!

Wren doesn’t know that there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to Maxim. (I have a feeling he will find out in the second book). Wren is innocent and Maxim is dangerous. Wren has his principles and Maxim is morally grey. Wren is altruistic while Maxim is possessive. It all works for them. Maxim knows that he shouldn’t draw Wren into his world, but he can’t help wanting to be around him. (I am also a big fan of the side characters in this book, especially Jess and Nik).

Wren and Maxim are drawn to one another, especially after Wren comes to Maxim’s aid in a dangerous moment. The more time Wren and Maxim spend together, the stronger their connection grows. Things take a turn after their business dinner and the spice is nice in this one (also, the dirty talk is top tier)!

I cannot wait for Bratva’s Vow. I’m going to devour it as soon as it comes out!
