Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky

5.0

“You have to live your life before you get to live your Heaven.”

This may not have been everyone’s cup of tea, but this was absolutely mine!

I could not put this book down. It was mind-bending, incredibly creepy, and extremely clever with added raw emotion with such a beautiful and heartfelt message sprinkled in throughout the horror.

My husband specifically asked me how I could be creeped out by a book, clearly he doesn’t read, but Chbosky did an excellent job of scaring the hell out of me. I was imagining this book as a movie the entire time I was reading, and I would absolutely pay to see it. Honestly, anything with creepy children, will absolutely give me nightmares.

This gave me serious It mixed with Stranger Things vibes, and I loved every second of it.

It’s a long book, but the overall message mixed with the creatively written horror makes this a 5 star book in my mind.
