Legend of the Rainbow Eater by Kristiana Sfirlea

I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Spoilers for book 1 ahead!

Rose and the other Blackouts are assigned to wish the Wishing Mist out of existence, taking the will-o’-the-wisps with it. Their mission brings them to a town hosting a maple syrup festival (to Marek’s delight!) However, bodies are going missing from the funeral parlor, giant squonks are lurking in the woods, and animatronic teddy bears are out for blood. Luckily, their future selves are there to assist, and the will-o’-the-wisps are being somewhat helpful. But as they get closer to the Wishing Mist, Rose and Marek start to wonder if getting rid of the will-o’-the-wisps is really the right thing to do. After that, they were the ones who brought Rose and Marek together. Are they really as evil as everyone seems to think?

Rose and the gang are back for another adventure! This book is jam-packed with action, mysteries, and suspense! It’s also hilarious; Rose and Marek are practically comedians as well as Blackouts! Sketchy characters, plot twists, and near-death experiences kept me turning the pages until I reached the end!

The world-building was amazing once again! I thought the first book had some crazy world-building, but Legend of the Rainbow Eater was even crazier! Picture Five Nights at Freddy’s meets Gravity Falls. Sounds great, right? It was!

Can I have a paradox of myself bring me a copy of book 3 from the future? I’m not sure I can wait that long! I am very much looking forward to more adventures with these characters!

I definitely would recommend this series! I’m sure it would be a great read for middle grade readers and up! If you haven’t already checked out book 1 in this series, you should go ahead and grab a copy!
