A Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology by Mike Rinder

5.0

This book is really incredible and Rinder is very brave for putting his story out there. I have always enjoyed listening to Rinder on the Aftermath and on numerous podcasts including his and Reminis which is fantastic. I find Rinder to be equally knowledgeable, interesting and empathetic and that comes across very well in this book. Rinder takes us through his introduction to Scientology to his escape. The amount of detail in this book in regard to Scientology is amazing, but his personal experiences and the experiences of others that he describes are truly heartbreaking. I’m happy that Rinder is now happy and loving an authentic life, but also that he continues to fight and educate people against the cult of Scientology despite the high risk is truly admirable. This is a must read, I highly recommend!
