Mara is too insufferable for me. Her indecisive and self deprecating nature is an intentional part of the story but holy hell it was annoying.
The romance was unbelievable, and Mara’s obsession with Joe never felt endearing…… just creepy.
The highs of the book were the jokey dialog with her new lido friends and that’s really what carried me through to the end. Otherwise I would’ve DNF’d
