Sticks and Stone by Grace McGinty
3.5

4/5🌶️, KU, contemporary hockey why choose (MFMM), no swords crossed, guardian of her baby brother FMC, two hockey playing MMCs - one a golden retriever and one grumpy and possessive, and one emotionally aloof billionaire CEO

A single parent, why choose with hockey players, should have been a totally hit, right? But, nope. It was good but I felt like so much of the plot was just left unfinished or bits were shoehorned in to add suspense and tension. Then the spice - while it was present, it wasn’t as hot as I would have liked and with only one group scene. I seem to have a lot of negative to say about this one, but I didn’t hate it. It was just that I kept expecting more plot, more answers and/or more spice and didn’t end up receiving any in the end. One thing I REALLY enjoyed was one of the MMCs had a praise kink, which I wish was explored even more. I love a well placed “good boy” as much as, or even more than, a “good girl”.
