The Elites by Natasha Ngan

2.0

I typically love dystopian novels, most of which tend to be YA these days. However I could not get into The Elites. I started and was interested by the premise, but felt like it never really got fleshed out - as another review noted I was told there was discrimination against "Reds" but never really saw it. And that was the biggest issue I had with this book, I was told a lot of things but wasn't really shown them.

I kept reading in hopes of getting hooked, and then finished the book out of sheer determination. It's a shame that I didn't like it, and I would definitely try something else by the author in the future, but the whole story just felt flat.
