The Alchemy of Moonlight by David Ferraro
4.0
I listened to the audiobook for this one exclusively and quite enjoyed it.
Read on for heavy reviewer introspection:
I can see why people would give it 3 stars, but I have to give it 4 because I found myself picking it up over other books I started.
Pros: tries to conquer really complex emotions that I think those who have experienced it, can relate to.
Cons: if you’re less familiar with these emotions, it’s likely not going to land and the odd pacing and sometimes dull dialogue will probably catch up with you in a bad way.
I think I am also happier with this book than I could have been because I went in with no knowledge and 0 expectations aside from I bought the audio book on a sale because I liked the cover art. And it just so happened to have a lot of things that I like about a story. Had any of these parts been spoiled for me or I saw coming, I may have been less enthusiastic about the book overall.
