mauihh 's review for:
Youngblood
by Sasha Laurens
This book wasn’t bad. It highlighted a lot of points that I like in books like these. Enemies to lovers being the main trope. I thought it had just the right amount of romance, murder, and mystery. I also thought the imagination behind the backstory of the vampires and the virus/cure was very well done.
But I will agree with most of the reviews about the way the characters behaved. I did not agree with most of the things that Kat did/said. Faking a relationship to get closer/be seen by a higher power, suddenly realizing she was in love with Taylor after she tried so hard to convince herself that she wasn’t queer, AND her overwhelming desire to fit in.
There were also typos throughout, incorrect grammar, and unnecessary sentences/metaphors.
Galen was also someone who rubbed me the wrong way with some of the things he said and how he acted in certain situations.
Overall, I think the plot was well executed and I enjoyed the way that it ended but there was also a lot that the author could have avoided and kept out of the final draft.
