Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld

It's hard to say much more without giving away the plot of either title, so just take my word for it. This book is barking AWESOME. The story was a little too Clanker heavy for my taste, as I'm a devoted Darwinist, but I did love how much of it occurred in Istanbul. There was a part towards the end that dragged on a little for me, but I may have just been annoyed at how much stirring my tomato bacon risotto required during a pivotal action scene.
