On a Quiet Street
by Seraphina Nova Glass
Finally a domestic thriller that doesn't follow the formula! These are smart women that don't just quietly take their partner's BS.
A typically quiet street where the neighbors all know each other, but the don't know-know each other, ya know. All at different stages of their lives but when situations and circumstances collide, they don't just sit idly by and let life run them over.
This story was a breath of fresh air and restored my faith that a domestic thriller could actually have women not succumbing to their awful partner and making ridiculously stupid choices that make their situations worse. I 100% understand that in real life leaving an abusive relationship is extremely hard and often times seems impossible and can (& sometimes does) result in injury or death and I will never make light of that; but in fiction, I wish they'd show the possibilities available rather than portray women to be too weak or not smart enough to get out. Hopefully you know what I'm saying. Anyway, this was smart, and showed real people fighting for themselves and their families and I loved it.
The narration was excellent, and I highly recommend it.
