Buď silný, ať se stane cokoli by Travis Mills
2.0
I really struggled with this book for a few reasons. Firstly, the book was not at all what I expected. I was hoping for a story about Travis's journey of recovery after his injury. Instead, it was mostly focused on his life up to that point. I was really hoping for more of a story of someone who needed to come to terms with a new way of living, instead it was mostly about the life of a soldier.
Secondly, there were just too many slightly problematic moments where Travis expressed either sexist or homophobic tendencies. Asking his wife to deprive herself of a job / intellectual pursuits, so that she's more available for when he's home!? The comments about being too close to other men when things were cold. Just came across as a bit childish. There is a load of positivity in Travis and he's done a lot of wonderful things, but those moments diminished his character in my eyes.
