The Light We Lost

4.5 stars - This book was an incredibly moving tale about the power of first love and the choices we make concerning love (in all its forms) throughout our lives.
Jill Santopolo’s first foray into the adult fiction world is a triumphant one. Reeling from a personal breakup of her own and having a similar pull to the city of New York, Santopolo created characters full of complexity and depth that was hard to turn away from. While the beginning felt a bit slow and like a light, summer read, I quickly l got sucked in to the narrative and the writing style as the book became so much more than that.
