I admittedly have a hard time with all the world building in this book.  It's overly complex but not out of necessity and that made it difficult to stay interested.  The plot and characters thoughts seemed to be all over the place at times.

I also had a hard time liking the fmc Rocklin Revenaw and I can't really put my finger on why.  I did like the MMC Bastian Bishop more but even he had a hard time holding my attention. Their relationship is too insta-lust for me and I had a hard time understanding the attraction.  During most of the book, I was more interested in the Enzo guy they kept mentioning.  The man Rocklin's sister agreed to marry. (That's a whole different plot that will be picked up in book 2).

The end of the book was written very well and I enjoyed that.  I think once a lot of the world building/explanation was out of the way, the book was much more interesting.  I am hopeful for the next book, Bad Little Bride because it should require less of the explanation and Enzo sounds like my favorite kind of character.
