The first half of the this book was quite slow, although I was in a bit of a reading slump so it could’ve been that. It bombards you at the start with the new terminology of this world (e.g. Dante, Virgil, Lethe House, Houses of the Veil…) but I found it was quickly explained or defined. The latter half of the book was what grabbed me, when the storyline started becoming intense as tensions increased and the investigation into Tara’s murder kicked off. And by the end I was enthralled with the world of Ninth House and didn’t want it to stop
