This is a super sweet read in the Masters and Mercenaries world and was a change of pace for this series. Here we have the story of Boomer and his next door neighbor, Daphne. Boomer has always been attracted to and intrigued by Daphne, but their paths have never really crossed until one day when Daphne's daughter, Lou, needs some help and comes knocking on Boomer's door.

Despite the fact I'm normally not as into the sweet, cinnamon roll type heroes, I actually very much enjoyed this. We get to see Daphne and Boomer really spend time together and get to know each other and I loved the dynamic between not just them but also Boomer and Lou.
