This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I was thinking Bachman or Remarkably Bright Creatures but it was not that at all. It had an older main character but that's really where it ended. The POV meandered in a way that some people would really like but I found it very distracting. Magda was also a very hard character to root for by the end (girl, answer your phone! you're a therapist - you know better!). I really loved the descriptions of random street life and thought the book was interesting, but overall underwhelming - and I honestly think it was because what *I* thought it was going to be a different kind of book than it actually was.
