This was surprisingly refreshing and good. I don't know what I was expecting, but whatever it was, it wasn't this and I'm not mad about it.

The beginning is a little rough in the edges. I understand that we don't know a lot about this world, but the dual narration which even have different verbal tenses (Cee's chapters are in first person, while Kasey's chapters are in third) makes things very confusing. But I encourage everyone to keep reading, because it definitely gets better.

To not spoil anything, this is a nice story about love, sisters and a decaying world. It has interesting questions regarding humanity and our role in the destruction of the environment, and it made me think and reflex while keeping me engaged in the characters. It is a nice read and I'd recommend it.

For the spoilery part: I was able to predict that Cee was a bot, but not in the "I saw this miles away" plot. On the contrary, I was really invested and that's why I kept on thinking on the different subtle clues that were there and that's how I figure it out. The narration, the same that made the beginning clumsy, made the discovery part really fun. I can see how other readers will get the more obvious hints closer to the chapter that it is revealed and it builds up on the expectation of the confirmation really well.

I don't know if this is offical or not, but at least my personal headcanon and how I read Kasey is as an autistic person. From her first chapters, her way of seeing and experimenting the world was very noticeable for me (as someone in the spectrum) and I could relate with her so much more than with other characters. Even if it's not canon, I thank the author for letting me experience this complex character. I felt seen, even though I'm not a genius like her.

The ending was a little open for me and I don't know if it was intended or I did not get it completely right. However, the more I think about the ending, the more I like it.

Also, I stand Hero and Cee as a couple
