Easily the best book in THE BRIDGE KINGDOM series to date, THE ENDLESS WAR has all the excitement, drama, action, twists, and blazing romance you could want in a true enemies-to-lovers book.
Freshly imprisoned on a dangerous island, Zarrah must survive to reclaim a legacy she never expected to embrace. Meanwhile, Keris must decide what he is willing to sacrifice: his kingdom or his true love.
Keris and Zarrah remain wonderfully complex characters. Keris struggles with his father’s legacy and the selfish choices that led to the suffering of many. Zarrah must overcome decades of influence and loneliness to find her own path. Both characters draw strength from each other to face their demons, and their perseverance makes it easy to root for them.
The romance remains as complicated and spicy as ever, with both Keris and Zarrah desiring a future together, but trapped by duty, manipulation, trust, and honor. Their romance is rocky yet like their own personal journeys, worth the effort and work.
I loved the political aspects. Old allies and enemies returned to bring both solutions and problems for our star-crossed lovers, and there were new, unexpected allies that I instantly fell in love with.
The action, settings, and pacing were exactly what they needed to be. I never felt bored, never felt like something was missing, and loved the attention to detail combined with excellent prose.
THE ENDLESS WAR is one of my favourite audiobooks to listen to this year. Both performers did a great job and the sound effects were quite fun. A must have if you love a thrilling enemies-to-lovers/star-crossed love story with layered, mature characters who will fight for what they believe in.
