I was very nervous starting this book. There were particular directions I didn't want the plot to go especially after the ending of the first book. Specifically I was afraid certain characters would be changing for the worse. While there were plenty of very difficult confrontations in the book, the author never let my fears come to fruition. The characters kept true to themselves and in most respects were strengthened to something better by the end of the book. The story conclusion was satisfying and answered most of my lingering curiosities as well.
My only issue was with the length of the book, which at times felt too long. Certain narrative spin offs or character thought monologues felt repetitive and unnecessary. Aside from this minor point, I enjoyed the book very much!
