The Mystery of the Missing Tea Drinker by Bryl Davidson

Did not finish book. Stopped at 47%.
thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an e-arc.
I unfortunately could not get into this. it took me so long to barely make it halfway and I was not interested at all. it felt kind of sloppy to me with stuff being thrown at us but taking forever for the reasoning to be developed.
I remember seeing a few errors throughout what I read (but hopefully they have been updated and fixed before it was published).
the characters did not have good development and I can see the author trying their best to include mental health problems with panic attacks, but the other character having a “condition” that we can obviously see what it is hit is never explicitly said and instead we just learn of more reasons why this make the character “weird.”
I did not understand the use of drugs as a plot development in this book, considering it is middle grade, and that really threw me off once I got to that point.
I appreciate being approved for this arc but it unfortunately was not for me. don’t let that discourage you from picking it up though!
2/5⭐️ for submitting purposes on NetGalley.
