Motherhood
by Sheila Heti
3.5 stars, I guess.
I really don't go in for this confessional, mumblecore style of writing. I absolutely hated "How Should A Person Be?" back when I read it in 2019, but Motherhood was recommended so fervently on TikTok I thought I'd give Heti another go. There are some really beautiful vignettes in this one, but it's far too long. Like either have the baby or don't, but the flip-flopping goes from endearing to exasperating around page 170.
