ok so i’m conflicted about this book. at first I was really enjoying it - I don’t think I’ve read a winter sports romance and I was really liking the setting. I instantly liked Brooke and Alex (I loved Alex she was actually a great friend) and when we got to meet the False Kings I instantly loved JJ and Hanne. Now Chase? Not so much. I’m not gonna say I hated him because he did intrigue me and I knew he was gonna be an asshole at the beginning so I was willing to overlook it, I just didn’t know his shit ass attitude was gonna last for so long. Listen, I know he had issues but I don’t think they justify his actions at all. He was an absolute prick to Brooke for absolutely no reason and him
not showing up at the hospital for a long time and when he actually does he throws that fucking tantrum???
no words… He also did a complete 180 when they left Switzerland????? And then after that he was doing 180s every single fucking day. There was  actually also a point in the book
after their fight at the hospital where she’s sad about their ‘breakup’ or whatever and she’s touching herself thinking of him
where I started rolling my eyes at their relationship because I realised that’s all they had going for them: sex. literally until the very end of the book there was nothing that happened between of them that could make me believe they had anything but a acquaintances with benefits relationship. their relationship lacked so much substance and chemistry that you don’t even know why they like each other, other than finding the other hot and looking at the mountains a certain way like plsss
anyway I was actually really enjoying the story until 70% I would say? by that point our MC’s were annoying the shit out of me and all I cared about was JJ (my favourite character so glad he has his own book)
