The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Leo Marx

4.0

While Hawthorne often took ages to describe certain things, I thought this book was actually very interesting. His use of symbolism was phenomenal! All of the characters were different in ways that made them stand out, and, above all, made them so realistic. None of them were perfect by any means and the narrative made sure to exemplify that. I normally wouldn't have read this because it's just not my genre, but I actually ended up enjoying it more than I expected to.
