This was a very pretty and yet violent book about wild (literally) women and the men who won't let them stay wild. I appreciated the characters who felt tender towards insects and didn't like cut flowers - I always feel weird about that in myself. All of it was lovely but it felt a little basic feminism 101, a little too on the nose with generic messaging, which made it a bit drained of meaning. Well written, beautiful imagery, but ultimately didn't go deep enough.
