I've to agree that it was all excruciatingly slow in the first twelve chapters and I was tired of reading about what Miriam's going through (felt like too much).
However, the way it picked up from then onwards was a brilliant pace. Yes, it was quick then but that's how rest of the people generally get to know about coercive control because the perfect image is displayed for so long that little signs of coercive abuse don't stick out like sore thumb.
The ending was satisfying & made me genuinely happy (though an idea upset me that in real life, not many people get such satisfying ending to their stories because Law is not perfect).
