I liked the fighting scenes. The shonen/*One Piece* nerd in me really came out cuz WOW I really really really liked the long, messy fights. The last battle went so hard and is probably my favourite.
This book dragged a lot more than the other 2 -- I found that OS started quick, and ended quick, but things were SLOW around the mid-point. Looking back at all the events that happened, I could see which scenes built-up to the action at the end. I think the events and scenes were well-placed amongst the story, even if past-spicy couldn't see where things were heading.
I also appreciate that OS felt to be more battle, war, and problem oriented. So much bad shit was happening left n right lol. Those poor cadet mfs could barely have 1 (one) restful night of sleep.
Predicted, but I also liked seeing Violet and Xaden's relationship progress and evolve throughout the book. I love that they are both determined to fight for eachother no matter what. I love a strong relationship bond. Also they're reaching the "fighting like a married couple" cliche in my head, which is so cute
On the actual big events:

I knew she would leave, the moment the offer was on the table. I knew that she would want to go, and that Violet wouldn't want to hold her back from making any decisions. Still cried though 😠I'm not sure exactly how Violet's signet works though, is it from Andarna? Why did it work when Andarna was away? Did Andarna actually come back and was powering her dreams? Or is it actually from Tairn somehow? Idk man

I lowkey knew she'd be saved by Brennan HAHA but I was SHOCKED that Mira, strong, stubborn Mira of all people was captured. Ain't no way this was possible
- Quinn's death
I didn't feel attached to Quinn much, but Imogen? Yes. Seeing Quinn die from Imogen's POV? I cried HARD
Quinn dancing in one moment, and then the next moment she's in Imogen's arms taking her last breath. I liked seeing this short snippet of their friendship, and them talking about Quinn's future wedding plans. It's so sad

- VIOLET AND THE WEDDING RING

Okay theory: Violet found Xaden after killing Theophanie, Xaden was too far gone as venin. Something like, they had to elope so Violet would take over Riorson House, Tyyrendor, and act in his shoes?
I'm pretty sure it'll be something like that, but I'm not ignoring the idea that maybe they just leave eachother so much and wanted to have this legal bind together.
