Disrupting the Game: From the Bronx to the Top of Nintendo
by Reggie Fils-Aimé
Everyone knows Reggie for his lovable exterior and the associated memes that came from it but he's really a smart and resilient business machine who endured several challenges, starting from a poor upbringing in New York, to learning the strengths and weaknesses of advertising for various companies, to eventually changing the face of Nintendo with his unconventional but effective ideas, and his bravery to challenge tradition. Without Reggie, the DS, Wii, and Switch wouldn’t have pushed the boundaries as strongly as they did, and it was interesting to read about his disruptive methods that made those systems so unique. His book is an inspiring — and even bittersweet — story about innovation through trust, endurance and insistence. Offers plentiful advice to chew on. I'm not a business person but as a gaming enthusiast I found Reggie's experiences to be enlightening and I learned a lot about Nintendo that I didn't know. He left quite a mark.
