You know how second books pretty much never live up to the first? Well that was most definitely not the case here. It’s got everything that I loved from The Last Sun, but taken up a couple hundred degrees. I still laughed quite a bit, and often at inappropriate times (thanks to Rune’s habit of spitting out everything even when the walls are falling in around them), still felt my heart race when it looked like everything was about to go utterly wrong, and still was completely knocked off my feet in shock at revelations. I honestly think this might be a perfect story. And I HIGHLY recommend everyone read it.
