I do think these are improving with every installment to the series, but the same problems present in the others are present here. Mainly the stories feature a mystery element and in each book there is build up and then the mystery is resolved quickly and the storyline surrounding it just kind of fizzles out. In this book the mystery wasn’t even introduced until the last half so it was very compressed.
That said, I liked the dragon/wolf rival shifter clans dynamic. The two MCs seemed well paired although some of their scenes were a bit repetitive and I’d have liked to see them doing more stuff together to build a bond.
The world building is creating a more robust community throughout the series, it will be interesting to meet an incubus in the next book.
