I'm not sure why the book was labeled as dark genre. It reads more like a Wattpad story than anything else. The characters are too flat and the plot is too generic and uninspired. And the writing itself, well...let's just say it's not Shakespeare.

I was really looking forward to this book, thanks to the booktokers and booktwt oomfs. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype.

Honestly, I was more intrigued by Ava's attempts to provoke reactions from Alex than anything else. The revenge plot seemed forced, contrived, and unnecessary. Additionally, it didn't make sense and felt flat and overly dense. In the end, nothing really worked for me in this story and I was left feeling very bored and unimpressed.

Overall, I was thoroughly disappointed by the book, and I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
