The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
5.0

It's impossible for someone not to cry reading this one. I was holding myself the whole book until I could no more. The downfall of men was pride, greed, and fame. Everything was more important than life. War always takes the innocent ones and leaves those who have to deal with the weight of death. Patroclus deserved better, deserved to be happy and have a simple and pure life. But, until the end, he never left Achilles alone. His love held them together, even when Achilles chose other values instead of their love. It was so difficult for me to read this until the end, I held my tears as long as it was possible. The Song of Achilles is a great book, a book of love, death, pain, and suffering. Everything that makes us humans. I'm so happy to read such a well-written book, with characters so well-developed. It hurts me that Patroclus had to suffer like that, I loved him and felt so happy to see him grow. I don't know if I'll be able to recover after this book. I'm truly heartbroken. Thank you Madeline Miller for letting me read such a great book and cry at the same time.
