Paris: The Memoir by Paris Hilton
3.75
dark emotional hopeful informative medium-paced

Once again, it’s not a literary masterpiece but to Paris’ credit she was literally prevented from finishing high school when she was sent away to an abusive juvenile detention center at 15ish. The accounts of being sent to functionally prison with more cavity searches was heartbreaking and devastating. This is the first celebrity memoir I’ve genuinely had to stop listening to because it was HEAVY and all this because she had ADHD and no one was interested in working with her. The abuse she endured could as easily have killed her. Each one of these memoirs by an It-Girl of the 90’s-2000’s is just one heartbreaking story after another. I’m amazed she was able to repair her relationship with her parents and astounded by her use of her platform to bring down some of the atrocious and sadistic organizations that profited off torturing children.
