A much more detailed, academic look at intersectional gender non-conformity and trans experiences. Age, class, race, education, degree of activism, nationality, degree of feminism, language spoken, and so much more all impact individual experiences that break from generalized patterns previously thought to apply to a more universal trans narrative (spoiler alert- it applies to mostly white and rich American trans experiences, who would have guessed). It’s a dense but short read that highlights nuances in experiences in a formal way. It also asks about what the future looks like in terms of the language we use to talk about these more niche experiences and how that may relate to Lego bricks.
