The Proposal Play
by Lauren Blakely
Oh my gosh, this may be my new favourite from Lauren! This was everything I wanted and more. Maeve and Asher were so cute. They were already best friends so knew each other and each others quirks so it was fun seeing them dive deeper and build a stronger connection together. A marriage pact, a drunken night in Vegas and a hot kiss made for the perfect formula for these two.
There was tension, spice, angst and love and everything blended perfectly. The connection with these characters and all the feelings were practically coming out of the pages in waves. This was such a joy to read and was so easy to immerse yourself in the pages.
This definitely deserves a place in the love and hockey series. Hockey and art as their careers did play a part in the plot but didn’t take over the story. This one made references to some of the other books in this series but was easily understood on its own. I would recommend reading the series in order because this one does contain some Easter eggs for the other books but it could be read as a standalone.
If you haven’t put this one on your TBR or in your cart, get to it. This is a run don’t walk situation if you’re ready to fall in love with a book xx
