Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson

“Louise, stars in your eyes, my own constellation. I was following you faithfully but I looked down. You took me out beyond the house, over the roofs, way past commonsense and good behaviour. No compromise. I should have trusted you but I lost my nerve.” 187

Once finding out this is a queer novel I was so hooked! But even looking past that, it’s is a lovely and cozy novel on romance and ethics - how are we to deal with death when love is present? How selfish can we be in the name of if all? Winterson’s writing is also quite intertwining, with some sections being more abstract/artistic and others flowing narrative. These chances helped keep the emotions of the main character enticing, but personally was just a bit too much to follow at certain times
