2 stars for judecardan + 1 star for everything else. my 2:30 am post-queen of nothing thoughts follow
what i liked: the first 100 pages, jude and cardan moments, conclusion of heather & vivi’s relationship, i like the epilogue very cute, so many quotable quotes in this one i adore judecardan
what i didn’t like: what the fuck happened in the last 60 or so pages literally what the fuck, is the climax literally 6 pages in total was it really just jude chopping off the serpent’s head i expected so much more, who even is the living court??, it felt really rushed the last few chapters were a blur
anyway “It’s you I love,” he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.” will be a recurring thought of mine forever.
